Abstract
The reactions of liquid dinitrogen tetroxide with lithium carbonate, basic magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydrodixe, hydrated magnesium chloride, magnesium perchlorate and anhydrous aluminium chloride have been carried out. New methods for the preparation of anhydrous lithium nitrate and magnesium nitrate have been indicated. Evidence has been obtained for the formation of dinitrogen tetroxide adducts of magnesium nitrate and aluminium nitrate.
