Abstract

Summary.The fall in blood lactate concentration during “recovery” from prolonged, moderately hard muscular work was studied in two subjects, working on a bicycle ergometer. The rate of lactate utilization during “recovery” was found to be greater during light muscular Work than at rest. Lactate utilization at rest was found to be faster after prolonged than after short muscular work.
