Abstract
It has been our perception that there has been a marked increase in extremely elderly patients (≥85 years old) seen for consultation and treated in our department in recent years. We sought to evaluate this and to determine for which diseases this might be true, whether treatments were curative or palliative, and whether this increase can be explained by the increasing US elderly population.
