Abstract

SYNOPSIS Ramets of nine clones of Eucalyptus grandis were tested for 14C uptake using a closed circuit technique to determine if it was possible to grade them for carbon uptake and for carbon allocation. It is concluded that although differences between clones occur, the variance between ramets of the same clone are such that significant differences cannot be demonstrated. 14C allocation to root, shoot and leaf differ significantly, increasing in that order.
