Abstract
This year marks the centenary of the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force (RAF), the first independent air force, and the end of a ‘100-year experiment’. During that period, it has become clear that airpower has limitations, and the RAF and other air forces continue to face many of the same fundamental challenges.
