Abstract
Physical parameters (density, mass of the ionized gas, emission measure, excitation parameter) of various thermal sources of the Cygnus X complex were derived by adopting a simple spherical model. The limitations of the excitation parameter-spectral class relationship are discussed and because of them no reliable conclusion can be drawn about the nature of their exciting stars. Physical characteristics of two non-thermal sources were also derived on the assumption they are SNR.
