Abstract

The radiation tail accompanying elastic electron scattering from a finite nucleus with charge Z is calculated using distorted wave methods. The point radial integrals and the external radial integrals are evaluated in terms of generalized gamma functions, while the internal radial integrals are evaluated by numerical integration and depend on the nuclear ground state charge distribution. The maximum incident electron energy is about 150 MeV, and the energy loss can be up to 80% of the incident energy.
