Abstract

The light radiation of a target in a complex background is discussed, with the contributions of the Sun and of the sea and sky background, and that among each component of the target. On the basis of electromagnetic wave theory, a theoretic model for the calculation of near-sea target scattering from complex background radiation is analyzed. Finally, a numerical calculation has been made for the radiation from a near-sea circular cylinder in the 3-5 /spl mu/m and 8-12 /spl mu/m bands.
