Abstract

Meshless methods have proposed recently to solve electromagnetic problems for some advantages. This paper extends the meshless radial point interpolation method (RPIM) to the application of electromagnetics with the plasma media. The discretized equations for a plasma driven by an electric field is derived with the shape function expansion. Consequently, this paper shows a numerical experiment solved with finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and RPIM respectively. The results from the RPIM show a good agreement with ones from the FDTD method. This verifies the accuracy and applicability of the RPIM. Numerical results also show that the plasma media can change the spectrum of wave propagating inside.
