Abstract

Background: The rate of inpatient mastectomies remains high despite multiple studies reported that outpatient mastectomies do not compromise quality of patient care. Major advantage of outpatient treatment is the increase of efficient and effective care. An outpatient mastectomy program was developed and gradually implemented in 2019; the entire surgical-anaesthetic team was included. Main objective of this study was to evaluate feasibility of outpatient mastectomy. Facilitators and barriers were identified in order to improve compliance.
