Abstract

The quantity of viable cells at various stages of gestation was determined with trypan blue. Samples taken between the 12th to 13th weeks of pregnancy may at times contain no viable cells. The success of a culture of amniotic fluid cells depends among other things on the amount of viable cells added. An increase in the amount of dead cells in a culture seems also to impair the result of the culture.
