Abstract

Measurements with aluminum and graphite chambers have been made to compare the quality of 220 U iridium gamma -rays within a scattering medium with the quality of roentgen rays under the same conditions. The results show that the energy absorption in the inorganic matrix of bone surrounded by soft tissue is appreciably less with iridium gamma -rays than with 220 kv roentgen-rays.
