Abstract

When determining the place of Quality Assurance groups within companies, management uses arguments to defend their preferred structures. These are typically the ‘vertical’ structure and the ‘site-based’ structure. In this article the author defends the situation that since Quality Assurance Professionals perform essentially similar work throughout the GXP scenario in Pharmaceutical R&D, a matrix approach is the most suitable to meet their principle functions.
