Abstract

Aims: The introduction of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) into diabetes care allows for the first time to monitor the daily blood glucose profiles accurately in a given patient. A variety of parameters has been developed for the analysis of CGM profiles. However, each parameter addresses only a certain aspect for example mean sensor glucose, variability, or risk for hypo- and hyperglycaemia. At present there is no method that allows calculating a single score for the evaluation of the quality of CGM profiles. The aim of our study was to develop a Quality score (Q-score) that combines all aspects of CGM profiles and can be applied for the objective analysis.
