Abstract

AbstractThe pure rotational Raman spectrum of selenium trioxide monomer in the vapour phase at 410 K has been obtained and analysed for the first time. The following rotational constants and bond lengths were obtained: This is the first spectroscopic determination of r0 in SeO3. The precision of r0 is significantly greater than the value of ra = 169±1 pm obtained from an earlier electron diffraction study.
