Abstract
In this paper, a pulsed field apparatus and magnetometer for various measurements, e.g. magnetic moment, magnetic phase transitions, ansitropy, high-field susceptibility, as well as critical temperatures, are described. Our apparatus consists of a 100 kJ capacitor bank (2 mF, maximum charging voltage 10 kV) and can produce a magnetic field up to 50 T with a pulse duration longer than 10 ms (in order to minimize relaxation effects). The measurements can be divided in a temperature range between 4.2–300 K.
