Abstract

This study investigated the effects of public posting of photographs on the percent of beds made. Twenty-six male residents at a residential retardation facility participated in the study. In an ABCBC design, the initial baseline was followed by instructing residents to make their beds. The next phase consisted of instructions plus posting photographs on a centrally located poster of each resident who made his bed. The results showed that bedmaking improved over baseline when instructions were provided. However, the public posting of photographs substantially increased the percent of beds made beyond the level achieved with instructions alone.
