Abstract

This paper examines the provision of medical information at the Catholic University School of Medicine. John Henry Newman, Rector of the Catholic University of Ireland founded this School in 1855. The dissemination of medical information through the formal means of communication such as books and journals and through the informal system of communication - the network of scholarly interaction between the School and other similar institutions at home and abroad - is presented.
