Abstract

Summary This report descrihes techniques whereby electrica/resistance strain gauges, of the bonded-wire type, can be used to measure strain at any point in a concrete or reinforced concrete member. Some observations are recorded on long-time stability of gauges and instances are recorded where they have been successfully employed to measure internal concrete strains and strains in reinforcing bars.
