Abstract

In this paper, we present a modified myoelectric prosthetic arm system which could be a remarkable improvement in comparison with the existing state of the art. The research reports on the features and functionality of the upper limb amputation from the humerus, which surpasses currently available technology. we discuss its weight and cosmesis, structural design, powered motor endpoint, prosthetic controls, specialized socket features, motor control and sensory feedback; meanwhile, stating briefly improvement made in the process of optimization compare with the existing prosthetic arm. The designed humerus configuration arm has elbow joint movement and four wrist movements, plus five-finger hand, totalling 6 degrees of freedom. A bidirectional prosthesis control between the activities decoding the users’ intentions and the work delivering the proprioceptive feedback through a specific preset afferent pathway are briefly discussed. Emg and IMU controls are used as inputs.
