Abstract
In 1967 an Undersecretary in the Ministry of Health was appointed by the Government of Iran to establish a nation-wide family planning program. Services will be available in urban family planning centers and through mobile teams sent to rural areas from these centers to educate and motivate the rural women. First priority will be given to low income families with many children. Urban families will receive priority use of services over rural families when the clinics expand. Initial programs will cover areas of greatest acceptance and least resistance and will be administered by the Minstery of Health.
