Abstract
Dr. B. J. Tighe, who is Senior Lecturer in Polymer Science, in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aston in Birmingham, has been a member of the DHSS working parties on contact lens solutions and lens materials. He has an active research group who have been working for several years on various aspects of the design of polymers for biomedical applications such as contact lenses, artifical liver support systems and dialysis membranes.
