Abstract

This paper qualitatively interrogated the use of child soldier in the modern warfare focusing its social-economic and security implication. The paper uses content analysis thereby limit the data only on to secondary data. The paper revealed that the intervention of UNICEF and Save the Children has to prevent the recruitment of children into the army and also serve as a bridge between the military and international actors. The paper discovered that there is no modicum of security for children within global community. It recommended that the response to use of children in armed conflict should be more proactive by taken measures to ensure accountability of any further conflict accompanied by child recruitment.
