Abstract
This article demonstrates the modern historians’ researches devoted to visions of Russian social thought concerning the Far East as the element of imperial foreign policy at the turn of 19th - 20th centuries. The author defines the basic areas of researches that include this issue’s analysis. Special attention is paid to current situation in historical knowledge. The conclusion demonstrates promising ways of this issue’s studying.
