Abstract
Lipid-stimulated inflammation is increased in PCOS independent of obesity.1 We evaluated the effect of saturated fat ingestion on tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) secretion from mononuclear cells (MNC) of women with PCOS who were either normal weight with and without AA or who were obese, compared with body composition-matched ovulatory controls; and its relationship with insulin sensitivity and HCG-stimulated ovarian androgen secretion.
