Abstract
With the in-depth study of parasitic diseases and parasitology, significant progress has been achieved. However, we must clearly recognize that the current situation is still grim. There is no fundamental change in traditional prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases. Meanwhile, the new animal-borne parasites and opportunistic pathogenic parasites are emerging, we are facing a series of difficulties in classification of par-asites, pathogenic mechanisms, diagnosis of parasitic diseases, especially in development of preventive and therapeutic drugs and vaccines, and so on. There is an urgent need to find the mechanisms on molecular level, thus carrying out researches on parasite genome is significant. Key words: Parasite; Parasitic diseases; Genome; Project
