Abstract

The current study aims at identifying the level of emotional intelligence among the faculty members at Al-Quds Open University in Palestine, and to reveal whether there is a correlation between the level of professional competencies among the faculty members at Al-Quds Open University and the level of their emotional intelligence. The descriptive analytical approach was adopted by the researchers. For the data collection, the researchers designed a questionnaire on a sample of (84) faculty members who were chosen randomly from Al-Quds Open University in the Gaza Strip branches. The results showed that the level of professional competencies of the faculty members as well as their emotional intelligence is very high. Also, there is a positive statistically significant relationship between the level of teaching competencies, technological competencies, human competencies, evaluation competencies, professional competencies and the level of emotional intelligence. In light of those results, some recommendations were produced.
