Abstract
The Canadian innovation system is composed of four main sectors: university, hospital, government and industry. This essay analyzes each sector’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of its scientific production. The authors show that Canadian science is increasingly produced in international collaboration and that all sectors are collaborating increasingly with each other.
