Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to clarify how 'fishing port' had been created both physically and conceptually through the historical materials analysis. results are follows. 1. Through mid of Meiji era to Taisho era, the needs for 'fishing port' have been changed from port of refuge, pelagic fishery port, base port for large ships, processed facility to food supply base for people. 2. This spatial and conceptual alteration was promoted as national project becase it was recognized that fishery port brought benefit to boarder people and nation.
