Abstract
Over a period of many years, Bakhtin prepared to write a number of specialized, and at the same time general, studies on the nature of the word. Regrettably, these intentions were not realized. However, in his papers are preserved preparatory materials that suggest the kind of works he had planned. One of these pieces appears here.
