Abstract
The problem of professional competence of teachers in the field of formation and development of modern civil identity of students. The authors make sense of the main approaches to the formation and development of civic identity, give the results of studies of the concepts of civic identity of teachers, identified the main directions of improving the professional competence of teachers for the problem posed.
