Abstract

Abstract This paper outlines the difficulties faced by distance learning students in gainingaccess to adequate higher education library services. In doing so, it draws on a survey of postgraduate students at four universities. This paper stresses the need for acadamics and librarians alike to consider the importance of the library for distance learning students and the need for national reciprocal arrangements to ensure that these students are not disadvantaged.
