Abstract

AbstractIn view of the limited natural resource base, imported oil is expected to remain the principal energy source. Peat extracted from the Zapata swamps is envisaged as a future power-station fuel. The present status and future plans of electric-power development are described, and five power-consumption districts are delimited.
