Abstract

Alcoholism in the caseloads of probation and parole officers throughout the country presents many problems. This article directs attention to the need for probation and parole officers to be informed and knowledgeable. Suggestions are made as to the use of constructive coercion, group counseling within the officer's base of operation, the enlisting of the cooperation of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon and Alateen, as well as other helping agencies within the community.
