Its specific objectives are the identification, analysis and formulation of the physical, chemical and biological processes controlling contaminant fluxes. The necessary mesoscale and small-scale data base was acquired through multi-ship experiments in the German Bight together with numerical models. The 6 accompanying articles are devoted to an integrated presentation of the results of a drift experiment in April 1991.
