Abstract

The article considers the possibilities of improvement of the position taken by the national universities in the international Webometrics rating. The principal aim of the work is to determine the priority actions, which will not require a significant investment and will provide good prospects for long-term growth of performances. It was shown that the first phase should focus on the increase of the value of presence. A set of practical recommendations was represented to arrange relevant business processes in the document and information management activities of the university. Their implementation and practical application should be supported by technical capabilities of management of multiple sites on sub-domains and by authorization of a high number of users with efficient publication of their documents. The results of the work can be applied while forming the policy of development of websites of national universities for foreign students with the aim to attract more students
