Abstract

Problem-based learning(PBL) is a process of acquiring understanding, knowledge skills and attitudes in the context of an unfamiliar situation and applying such learning to the situation. PBL can make students thinking more efficiently than they can do in the traditional methods of medical education. PBL has the standardized structure composed of fact/problem, hypothesis, action plan/need to know and learning issue. After introduction of PBL to Korea in 1992, many colleges of medicine made efforts to settle the curriculum of PBL in medical education. Although a practice of PBL have some problems. PBL will advance gradually because of its effective results in medical education.
