Abstract
The essence of the principle of publicity in criminal proceedings, explains its normative content and importance for the criminal procedure relations, formulated the concept of the principle of publicity in criminal proceedings. Selected characteristics of publicity, the main stages of the implementation of the principle of publicity associated with the adoption of a fundamental procedural decision in criminal proceedings, based on the analysis of current criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine isolated and characterized the subjects of the implementation of the principle of publicity. Focuses on the mechanism of implementing the principle of publicity, the place, role and importance of investigator, Prosecutor, investigative judge and the court in criminal proceedings in the implementation of this principle, identified the gaps in legislation that affect its implementation in criminal proceedings.
