Abstract

The basic principle, structure, and characteristic of large-scale underground water-sealed storage caverns is introduced in the paper. Then its brief development history is summarized to three stages. On this basis, the key technical problems which is faced by such projects are explained combined with engineering experience. Finally, several characteristics of the technology are summarized, and some conclusions can be used as reference for colleagues in related research fields.
