Abstract

Objective: A major side-effect of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). In-vitro maturation (IVM) of immature oocytes represents a potential alternative for the fertility treatment of these patients. The influence of low-dose priming with FSH in vivo before retrieval of immature oocytes and exogenous HCG injection on the outcome of an in vitro maturation in PCOS patients is discussed controversially in the literature. The aim of this study was to determine whether the rates of in vitro oocyte maturation, fertilization and cleavage, as well as implantation rate and pregnancy rate, and which are the important factors affect on the success of IVM.
