Abstract
In this paper, the theory of time-reversal focusing with electromagnetic wave is investigated. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is applied to simulate the time-reversal(TR) process. In the process, the propagation of time-reversal electromagnetic wave in homogeneous and inhomogeneous medium is discussed respectively. In both cases, the electromagnetic wave diverging from a point source propagates and is received by two antennas set on each side of the medium. The received signals are time reversed and retransmitted back by the corresponding antennas in their original paths. The resulting waves converge back to point of its initial source. The numerical simulation verifies the ability of time-reversal spatial-temporal focusing in electromagnetism.
