Abstract

In order to ensure the reliable transmission of electric energy, some preventive measures are adopted to improve the stability of the power system. The thermal stability of the system can be improved by increasing the transmission capacity. And the voltage stability of the system can be improved by installing reactive power compensation device. In this paper, the above two methods are integrated. Firstly, the objective functions of thermal stability, voltage stability and economy of the system are established. Then the multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm is used to solve the optimal configuration scheme of the thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) and the static var compensator (SVC). Finally, according to the simulation results of the classical power failure model, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.
