Abstract

While androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) decreases the risk of prostate cancer specific mortality in men with high risk localized prostate cancer treated with radiotherapy, it worsens cardiovascular (CV) risk factor profiles. Patients with pre-existing traditional cardiac risk factors who are treated with ADT have a higher rate of CV mortality than patients without risk factors.
