Abstract
• Skin tears are important impaired skin integrity commonly seen in older adults. • Health care institutions should determine the prevalence of skin tears in the scope of quality improvement . • Skin tears point prevalence rate of 4.1% in hospitalized older adults was found to be the highest, with 11.76%, in ICUs . • In the present study, many factors associated with skin tears have been revealed.
