Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of the preservation of artery blood supply of the Achilles tendon combined with suture anchor in the treatment of the rupture of the Achilles tendon in the insertion result from local blocking. Methods 18 patients with the rupture of the Achilles tendon in the insertion result from local blocking were treated by the preservation of artery blood supply of the Achilles tendon combined with suture anchor and given external fixation for 6 weeks from June 2007 to June 2010. Results All the 18 patients were followed up. The follow-up ranged from 6 to 30 months with an average of 12 months. Acording to Amer-Lindholm standard , the results were excellent in 15cases, good in 2 cases, poor in 1 case. Conclusion The combined operative procedure is reliable and allow to early functional exercises. Therefore, it is a satisfactory measure for the rupture of the Achilles tendon in the insertion result from local blocking. Key words: Rupture of the Achilles tendon; Operation
