Abstract

Many authors have suggested the use of the Bayesian mode of inference in legal settings. In this paper we review some of the basic Bayesian methodology as applied to legal proceedings, and give a Bayesian interpretation of some key legal phrases. We then outline two different applications of this approach in the context of actual legal cases.
