Abstract

For over 25 years, glucocorticoids have been the chief agents used in the treatment of pulmonary sarcoidosis. Most authorities agree that such treatment is effective, but much controversy exists about the indications for administration. Presented herein is a method of treatment using an alternate-day regimen of administration of prednisone; this approach is based on a synthesis of personal experience and findings in the literature.
