It is not, many hold, a true measure of the decrease of the morbidity of the disease. Pulmonary tuberculosis is still a very menacing cause of death to both sexes during the period of greatest bodily and mental activity. The keen desire for a cure for tuberculosis, a true therapia magna sterilisans, so widely spread at the beginning of the century, is now less evident.
