Abstract
Abstract The present Khan is the eleventh in succession of the same family. He commenced his reign ten years ago, at the death of the previous sovereign, the khanate descending from father to son, and not to the eldest male relative, as is the case amidst some other Mohammedan nations. The monarch receives the crown lands and gardens intact. With the rest of the nation, the property at a fathers death is divided equally amongst his sons, thus doing away with the possibility of any one possessing a large extent of the soil.
