Abstract

Purpose of Study: Increased presence of N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor 1 (NMDAr1) has been observed in patients with chronic tennis elbow. Glutamate, a potent pain modulator, activates the NMDAr1. The purpose of this study was to examine for NMDAr1 in forelimb flexor tendons of rats that performed a high repetition–high force (HRHF) or low repetition–low force (LRLF) reaching and grasping task.
